The relaxing silence of lunch was broken when my wife excitedly screamed, "He's here! He's here!". I looked out my front window to see the reassuring sight of a Warhold Mechanicals service truck, glistening in the sun, as it sat in the street in front of my house. "So who is this tech they sent?", I asked. "It's Shain 'The Sherif' Scherff! Did you know that he is one of their most frequently mentioned service tech in their recommended reviews online?" I thanked her for the information, but also let her know that I felt she was far too excited about Shain and that it made me feel a bit insecure as her husband. I opened my front door and took a few steps into the daylight. It was unseasonably warm for late March, but it was absolutely beautiful weather. The radiant and warm sun hung high in the sky, and it's splendor was unimpeded by any passing cloud. The cool wind soothed the skin as periodic gusts would come and go before overstaying their welcome. Shain approached and I returned to the moment at hand. He greeted me with a firm handshake and introduced himself. After pleasantries were exchanged, he gave me a concise and informative rundown of his itinerary for the 'system checkup'. I invited him into my home and he began his thorough evaluation of the situation. After a few minutes, he informed me that it was time for him to look at the thermostat. I guided him into the house warily as I have two dogs that, to some, have an intimidating appearance. However, Shain brokered such a quick friendship with 'Marty' that he didn't even have the opportunity to bark. It was some kind of record. Shain continued his work, and thru out his visit I stayed nearby in case he needed anything while also providing enough distance as to not obstruct his mission. When he was done, he gave me a full rundown on his evaluations, and any concerns he addressed while providing informative tips that will ensure proper operation of my central air unit for years to come. As Shain pulled away the cool wind died down, and clouds crowded around the sun. I couldn't help but to think "There goes one of the damn best techs from one of the best damn local family owned business in Westmoreland County." The next time it may be me panting at the glass of the window, hopping around with glee and yelling "He's here! He's here!".
